Fatbuilds 4×4 is a team of highly driven 4×4 enthusiasts based in Shearwater in North-West Tasmania. Our passion is building custom four wheel drives and working closely with our customers to bring their ideas to life. We specialise in American Trucks, high end touring builds as well as all general 4×4 needs. We are a one stop shop focusing on building our customers vehicles from start to finish. We pride ourselves on high quality work.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity available and are on the hunt for our next Four Wheel Drive enthusiast to join our fast growing business!

This is a full time position Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm with optional overtime available for the right candidate.

We are offering a attractive remuneration package.

Our role of 4×4 Accessory Fitter includes;

• Fitting a wide range of quality aftermarket 4×4 accessories and components such as suspension components, front & rear bars, snorkels, roof racks & accessories, custom rear draw set ups, custom tray and canopy fit outs as well as wiring of UHFs, dual battery systems, lighting etc.
• Mechanical works such as diff housing installations, front and rear end rebuilds, clutch installations etc.
• Self manage jobs and complete in a timely manner
• Fitment and balancing of wheels and tyres
• Carry out vehicle wheel alignments
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop

The above is a brief understanding of the role. If it goes on a four wheel drive, we fit it!

Skills and Experience

This position would ideally suit somebody with experience in the 4×4 industry however light/heavy vehicle mechanic experience, auto electrical experience or somebody with a trade background looking for a change will be highly considered.

The successful candidate will have the following skills;

• Well developed automotive skills
• Strong mechanical understanding
• A passion for four wheel drives and the great outdoors
• Have a positive and enthusiastic can do attitude
• Be a creative thinker with an eye for detail
• Great time efficiency skills and work well under pressure
• Be self motivated, reliable and take pride in their work
• Work well and enjoy working as a team
• Great customer service skills
• Have a willingness to learn new skills and under go training
• Drive and ambition to grow and develop within our business for the opportunity of career progression and development
• Current manual drivers licence

Skills that would be an advantage but not required;

• Motor Vehicle Industry Experience
• Auto Electrical Experience
• Trade Background
• Tyre Fitting Experience
• Wheel Aligner Experience
